If you are wondering why this blog has been paused, here are some things I’m wondering at the moment too:

  • I wonder if it is now helping or hindering my journey as an author?
  • I wonder if, after 400 posts from me and 5,000 comments from you (thank you!!), this blog has simply run its course?
  • I wonder how long my children’s stories are mine to share? They are growing up so fast!
  • I wonder if the endless requests to promote this and attend that have finally taken their toll? I am grateful for the wonderful opportunities blogging has brought me, but my inbox is a constant stream of PR requests and I turn down 95% of them.
  • I wonder if it is time to launch something new? And if I do, I wonder if you’ll come with me??
  • I wonder if taking the time to wonder is more important than we realise?

  1. All very valid, challenging questions! I ask myself any number of these on a daily basis!!!!

I’ve made the decision to blog differently in 2013. I still will be around, as I just love it, but ‘something’s gotta give’.

I’m sure I’ll still see you on SM though, right?!

  2. Lots for you to think about, Cath! Your blog was one of the first I started following – I like that it’s not all hype and your passion really shines through. Your blog has certainly encouraged me over the years.

Life is full of seasons, and perhaps this is a stepping stone towards your journey as an author. Only you know what is the right thing for you. All the best :)

  3. You’re so brave to pause, wonder and change the direction of your life.

I think it’s so important to reflect on where we are going, and life is meant to be a journey where sometimes things come to an end so you can begin again.

Good luck with your break and the decisions you’ll be making soon.

  4. I will follow you, you have helped me with so many ideas I have implemented in my workplace. I love hearing about your children’s stories but do understand they are their stories. I have always asked my children if I can facebook their stories and are always willing. They love hearing the feedback. Best of luck in what you decide is best xxx

  5. Cath you’re an inspiration, and I hope & pray for clarity & direction with your gift of writing. Whatever you do you’ll be blessing others! Xx

  6. I think asking the questions is a great starting point and the answers will come to you. I think as we make changes and follow different paths we can also change what we put out into the Universe/ blog / share. Write what and when you feel it is right.

  7. I too wonder about your third point. I’ve been blogging for over 5 years and it’s purpose has changed multiple times. It is surely right to do what works for you.

What I love most about your blog is that you are local Mum, you are honest, you give me the chance to reflect on what I’m doing with my kids and you have given me many ideas for playing, learning and growing with my own kids. = )

  8. I enjoy your blog for your honest, practical, down to earth approach to mothering, and I think you have alot to give. Certainly sounds like you need a new direction, don’t we all from time to time? Whatever you do, I wish you all the very best and will be looking forward to seeing what direction you take :)

  9. A lot of people never realize how important a little introspection is. Kudos to you on that “wonder” alone.

I, too, wonder if my current path is helping or hindering my desire to be a ‘writer of note.’ I have recently made some exciting decisions.

Most of all, I love that you understand that your children own their stories and have the right to tell them themselves.
