Look Good Feel Good

There are certainly some perks to being a blogger. I receive lots of products to try, get invited to some pretty cool events and even get to meet some amazing people. Lately I have been on the receiving end of some products and services that have helped me to feel good, and look good this winter.  And given how much sickness there has been in our little family – I’ve needed it!

I wasn’t paid to write about any of these products, but I did receive most of them free of charge :-)

  • Garnier Anti-Dark Circles Roll-On – This under eye caffeinated concealer is my new favourite beauty product. I don’t spend a lot of time on my makeup.  My 30-second daily routine is a quick sweep of powder foundation plus lipgloss.  My NEW two minute fabulous face consists of the under eye concealer, quick powder foundation, mascara and lipgloss. Done!
  • Blackmores multivitamins – Blackmores generously allowed me to try vitamins for the whole family. Kids multivitamins, Women’s Destress, and Men’s Performance Multi.  I’ve never really been into taking vitamins, but I’m happily giving them a try!
  • Kellogg’s cereal – I never, ever let the kids skip breakfast. We all know it’s the most important meal of the day. Sometimes though I am guilty of having a cup of coffee and calling it “breakfast” even though I know better. After being spoilt by the Kellogg’s team, I’m making an effort to ensure I eat a good breakfast as well as the kids.

  • TMH Salons – New hair works wonders for lifting your spirits. My stylist suggested balayage (free hand colouring from the bottom up) which works well for long curls, and requires less maintenance than regular colours.  [This was NOT free of charge but I did receive a small discount]
  • Westfield Style Session – What a joy to spend an hour with stylist Kim Ring, trying on things I wouldn’t usually give a second glance to.  I am normally a real bargain shopper, but I splurged on a fabulous pair of Levi jeans and have been l-i-v-i-n-g in them.  I think a style session makes a great gift for any mum.  (Drop your man a hint…)

We are always so busy taking care of our kids, but we also need to take care of ourselves.  What makes you look and feel good? Any products you rave about? Anything you can’t live without?  And on the rare occasion that you spoil yourself, what do you splurge on?

  1. I am very guilty of always putting myself last. I always buy stuff for the kids or hubby and never for myself, even though hubby is always telling me to go buy myself some things. I have been making a point to get my hair done and my eyebrows waxed regularly. Just those two things makes me feel so much happier about myself. I definitely need a shopping trip with a stylist. That would be lovely :-)

  2. Thos jeans look fab! No wonder you splurged. But you’d look good in anything. Your hair looks great too, healthy and bouncy.
2nd great review I’ve read about the Garnier anti circles roll on, might have to give it a try! Noticed the sleep deprivation i’ve had for 6 years starting to show.

  3. I don’t really enjoy clothes shopping at the moment because I am carrying around too many extra kgs, but I always feel good when I walk out of the hair salon. I don’t mind paying for a good hair cut, but I do my own colour at home though to save money, and find the result is just as good! Every now and then a facial or massage is a real pick me up too. P.S. You look great in those clothes:)

  4. Oh I KNEW there was something different about your hair. It looked fabulous and I’m loving that brown jacket on you. Go Squiggle.

Isn’t the garnier anti circles fabulous. i don’t spent allot of time with make up on either. Just special events and it’s so quick and easy.

  5. Love your style session photos. I must confess (never thought I would say this) but when I saw you at Indooroopilly (for Giggle and Hoot) I wasn’t sure it was you. The reason I wasn’t sure is that most people usually look worse in person than the pic on their blog, but you looked gorgeous! Not that I don’t love that pic with your kids either.

A style session is on my wishlist. Being a Mumma I tend to buy the cheapest clothes for myself rather than what looks good. I still have stuff in my wardrobe that has been there for over 10 years. Shame!

  6. I’m now a Huge fan of the garnier anti circle too, I’m using it almost daily now. I also wish they would do a complete foundation in it too! You look amazing in those jeans and I’m loving that jacket a lot. I’m trying to do more for me so I feel good and also so it teaches the kids to learn to value them too.

  7. It is uber cool to be a blogger! Love those boots Cath. I’m just getting around to writing a Kelloggs post and will link here as well. Love it! xxx
