Simple Pleasures

Childhood is full of simple pleasures:

Tossing autumns leaves

Jumping in puddles

Blowing bubbles

Catching rain on your tongue

Collecting shells

Chasing butterflies

Spinning until you fall down.

It’s a shame we have to grow up.

Or do we?

  1. I love, love, love jumping in puddles and playing in the rain…Brisbane is the perfect place for that – wet warm summers make it not unpleasant if you get wet through :)
(Grammar is shocking but I’m sure you understand my meaning)

  2. In the storms of the weekend my 7 yo rain outside to play in the rain. It was almost out of my mouth to stop him but I went and joined him instead. I’d forgotten how amazing it feels to get drenched on purpose. Like dancing with the weather, it was so much fun.

  3. Nah, we don’t have to grow up. I LOVE jumping in puddles with my girl and rolling down huge hills together.

It was lovely to meet you on the weekend :-)

  4. I’ve discovered I LOVE to colour-in. My boys can take it or leave it, but I’ve realised, while colouring in with them, that I actually delight in it. So I’ve bought myself some adult colouring in books and some lovely pencils. What joy! What simple pleasure!
